Tour Designer's Corner

In my early career as a tour escort, I have been to Tibet 5 times and my experience has contributed to the design of this exciting itinerary for my customers: China Spree Travelers.

Intentionally planned for no more than 18 days, this tour includes only China's premiere destinations. China Spree offers a phenomenal itinerary that compasses the imperial city of Beijing, Historic Xian, mysterious Tibet, laid-back Chengdu, bustling Chongqing, a 3-night cruise down the Yangtze River, classic Suzhou, water town Tongli, and the ultra-modern metropolitan Shanghai.

Besides tours to the mystic lamaseries and temples in Lhasa, our exciting itinerary includes an excursion to the holy lake of Yamdrok Yumtsoso, which is 2 ½ hours from the city of Lhasa. Rarely included in conventional tours, this scenic excursion offers an opportunity to marvel at the magnificent and austere landscape of the Tibetan Plateau, but also gives you a nice break from peering at Buddhist deities and temples, which can be a bit too much for some travelers.

The Tibet portion of the tour is in the middle portion of the journey so you have ample time to recover from jet-leg and acclimatize to China's weather conditions before you arrive high on the Tibet Plateau at Lhasa, which is at an altitude of over 11,000 feet. We intentionally planned the 3-night Yangtze cruise to happen after your stay in Tibet so you can relax and see the Yangtze gorges from the comfort of your ship.

Your Yangtze cruise is a 3-night downstream journey aboard the newest and one of the finest Yangtze cruise ships-M.V. President Prime. By traveling downstream, the cruise is one day shorter than an upstream trip without compromising anything (actually the upstream is too long). This extra day is added to your time in Suzhou and Tongli, followed by a free day in Shanghai-a bargain shoppers' paradise.

An extension tour to Hong Kong is available; please call us for details.
