Tour Fares Include
a) International air transportation:
Round trip transpacific air from designated gateway (San Francisco SFO, New York JFK, or Vancouver YVR) to China per tour itinerary. "Land Only" Package does not include the international flight to China.
b) As of April 1st, 2011, our listed tour fares include airline fuel surcharge, and all government taxes & fees.
c) China internal transportation:
All intra-China flights are included as per the itinerary. Private motor coach land travel (shore excursion organized by the cruise liners for Yangtze River cruise are based on shared coach tour), private transfers between airport and hotel, and all China domestic transportation within the tours are included. Note: China "Land Only" tour does NOT include airport/hotel transfers on arrival/departure days unless you are arriving and/or departing on the same flights as the group.
Hotel and cruise accommodations are included in the tour cost, based on standard twin-sharing rooms with private facilities. Tour fares shown are quoted on a per person (pp) double occupancy (do) rate (two people sharing one room). Single occupancy is subject to a Single Supplement charge. The rate for triple occupancy is the same as that for double occupancy. A triple room is a standard twin-sharing room adding a rollaway bed (cot). The standard room at some Chinese hotels may be smaller than that in North America so it is tight to have three beds in one room.
e) Sightseeing & Admission fees:
Comprehensive sightseeing, Yangtze cruise and shore excursions (where applicable), Culture InSites™ Programs, and evening shows including admission/entrance fees are included as per the itinerary. The arrangements of these programs are determined by local tour operators and are based on local circumstances such as weather, traffic, holidays, etc.
Daily meals and local flavors are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Diner, IM=In-Flight Meals. Breakfast is usually buffet style served inside your hotel. Lunch and dinner are usually served at local restaurants with Chinese "family style" set menu meals including one glass of selected beverages per person.
g) Escorting/Guiding Services:
For group travel with 10 travelers or more, a professional tour director (also known as national guide) is assigned throughout mainland China. Local guides are assigned along the trip to offer local guiding services.
Luggage handling services are included throughout Mainland China.
Tour fare does not include:
China visa processing fee; Airfare between your home city and the designated U.S. gateways; optional travel protection; gratuities to your China tour guides, drivers and porters; items of personal nature such as laundry, room service, phone bills, excess baggage charges, optional tours, and all other items and/or services not specifically listed in the itinerary.
Visa Requirement to Mainland China
All foreign nationals traveling to the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) must travel with a valid passport and a visa obtained prior to entering the country.
If you are U.S. resident holding a green card, you MUST make a clear copy of both sides of your green card and submit it with your actual passport and China Visa Application Form. If you are non-U.S. resident without any legal status in U.S. you must contact China Consulate on your own.
If you reside outside U.S/Canada. you must take care of your visa to China on your own.
Visa Requirement to Hong Kong
U. S. & Canadian citizens are not required to have a visa when traveling to Hong Kong and Macau if your stay in these destinations is less than 90 days in duration.
If you are non-U.S. & non-Canadian citizens and your tour includes Hong Kong, it is your sole responsibility to find out the visa requirement to Hong Kong before you make any payment to China Spree, and obtain the right document to enter Hong Kong on your own. You should later notify China Spree regarding this issue after you obtain your visa to Hong Kong.
If you are a Chinese passport holder and your tour includes Hong Kong, you must take care of your visa to Hong Kong on your own. China Spree is NOT responsible for any information or advice provided for your legal documents and visa requirement to enter Hong Kong and back to China. Note the visa requirement to Hong Kong and back to mainland China may change without any prior notice.
Charge for Children
A child aged 2-11 years of age is considered a child rate. Children under 2 years of age will have no seat on the plane (lap only) and no bed at hotels (shared with adults). Children 12 years and older will be charged adult rate.
Please note China Spree requires you to provide your FULL passport names as it appears exactly on your passport. We require and ONLY need your passport name. Failure to do so will result in denial of boarding and the passenger takes full responsibility.
It is the passengers' responsibility to double check with China Spree (Tour Beyond, Inc.) to make sure you provide the exact names as it appears on your passport when you make an online booking or reserve the tour over the phone. Please note your passport names must be provided correctly in the first place when you make the reservation and the names you provided will be keyed into the airline booking system by then. Any name change later on will result in the cancellation of the existing reservation and penalties may apply.
Please note China Spree (Tour Beyond, Inc.) will not verify the names you provide when making a reservation to the names on your actual passport or on your passport copy or on the credit card authorization form etc. It is your sole responsibility to provide the correct passport names when making your reservation.
When you receive the tour invoice, you must check again and make sure the names appearing on the invoice match exactly your passport names.
Upon receipt of the airline ticket before departure, you should perform the check of name spellings, flight segments, travel dates, etc. and contact us immediately if there is any discrepancy. Please note it is your sole responsibility to make sure all travel information is correct on your travel documents.
Methods of Payment
Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover, personal check, bank check, money order and electronic bank wire are all acceptable forms of payment, however, only payment by personal or bank check, money order, or electronic wire transfer will qualify for the cash discount rate. Third-party credit cards are not acceptable. Check or money order should be made payable to "Tour Beyond, Inc". Passengers joining our tours from outside the U.S. must make payment by electronic bank wire, bank check or international money order in U.S. currency.
A non-refundable deposit of USD$200 per person is required to secure your reservation. Your reservation will not be confirmed until your deposit is cleared with our company. To secure a reservation on a trip departing within 75 days, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Final payment is due 75 days prior to departure. Please send us a personal check, certified check or money order in the cash discount amount as indicated on your invoice by payment due date. The reservation is subject to cancellation if final payment is not received by the due date; in this case the deposit will be forfeited. Unless otherwise requested by you, we will bill you the "cash discount" rate as listed on our website. If you would like to make the balance payment by a credit card, please contact us prior to payment due date so we can send a credit card form to you. By doing so you are not eligible for the "cash discount" rate. The credit card fee is listed under "Dates & Pricing" on our website. Your check or money order should be received and cleared by our bank by the payment due date.
Payment for Land Only packages
Travelers who purchase a China "Land Only" package and make the payment with a credit card are required to provide a CLEAR copy of their credit card (for both front and back side), and a copy of a passport for each travelling participant. The documents should be emailed as a scanned attachment to email@example.com or faxed to 360-656-0000 (or 001-360-656-0000 if faxed outside North America) before the reservation is confirmed.
All Inclusive China Tour
Our "All Inclusive" China tour refers to a China vacation package including international air transportation to China, hotel accommodations, sightseeing tours, and most meals as opposed to a "land only" China tour.
Cancellation & Refund
Notification of tour cancellation for any reason must be in writing. Verbal cancellation by phone is not acceptable. Any cancellation refunds will be calculated from the date the written cancellation is received in our offices.
Should the traveler(s) cancellation change the room configuration and thereby incurs a single supplement charge to a roommate within 75 days prior to departure, the amount of charge will be deducted from the travelers' refund. This is in addition to any other cancellation fees that may apply. If the cancellation is made outside 75 days, the roommate has to pay the single room supplement.
Air tickets and all other travel documents must be returned to our office before we can confirm your cancellation with your travel protection company where applicable. Applicable refund can only be processed following receipt of the written cancellation and returned documents.
Traveler(s) unable to complete the vacation for any reason acknowledge that any and all unused portion(s) of the vacation package is neither refundable nor exchangeable.
Cancellation Policy: The following Cancellation penalties are assessed according to the number of days prior to departure date, when we receive your written cancellation notice:
A $500 penalty per person is assessed, in addition to the above penalties, for the cancellation of Business Class seats.
The China visa handling fee is not refundable and is in addition to the above penalty if the visa has already been processed.
The cancellation policy for some tours may be different from the above policy.
The above cancellation penalty will be carried out strictly regardless of the reason that you have to cancel. Tour Beyond, Inc. (dba: China Spree) strongly recommend our clients to purchase travel protection to protect their travel investment.
Our escorted package tours require a minimum number of passengers in order to operate. In the unlikely event that a specific departure must be cancelled due to lack of participation, we will notify all confirmed passengers prior to the final payment due date, and offer alternate dates of travel or a full refund.
The minimum number of passengers required to operate a tour varies depending on the travel category and is listed below.
|Tours under "Specials" category:||a minimum of 10 is required and the tour is locally guided|
|Tours under "Deluxe" category:||a minimum of 6 is required and we need 10 passengers to assign a National guide|
|Tours under "Luxury" category:||a minimum of 2 is required and we need 10 passengers to assign a National guide|
Please do not purchase any U.S. and/or Canadian domestic connecting flights, or other services which are dependent upon the operation of your package tour, until your tour is guaranteed. We will not be held responsible for any costs related to the cancellation of a package tour, including but not limited to issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or China visa fees. In the unlikely event of a departure being cancelled due to political instability, government intervention, or other conditions beyond our control, we will make every effort to obtain refunds from our suppliers, but we cannot always guarantee a full refund.
China Spree reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure for any reason. Upon complete cancellation, China Spree shall refund the full amount paid. Liability for such cancellation is limited only to this full refund; such refund will constitute full settlement with the tour member.
Although we want everyone to have a good time, it sometimes happens that someone participating in a tour can misbehave or do things that may include:
- Irresponsible or Incompatible with the safety, comfort or convenience of other tour members of the tour;
- The disrespect of the customs of the country or area they are visiting;
- Blatant and unrealistic demands insisting things beyond the reality of the group tour, and/or of the culture they are exposed to;
- Consistent and constant complaining, including insults, about things because of their failure to adapt to the reality of the country they are visiting
You agree that in the circumstances listed above and not limited to; China Spree and our representatives have the exclusive right and absolute discretion to expel someone, or even you, from a tour at any time, without any retaliating claims or complaints by you against us. In such cases, we will not refund any portion of the tour cost, and all expenses incurred by the termination of the touring program are the responsibility of the removed traveler.
China Spree also reserves the right to decline to accept, or retain any person as tour member if such person's physical or mental conditions, or his/her attitude towards China Spree and/or our tours, in China Spree's opinion, purposefully or carelessly impede the operation of the tour.

The world of travel is ever-changing. Therefore, the day-by-day itinerary provided on our website is preliminary and subject to adjustment and change. We will try our best to provide an accurate final itinerary to you approximately two weeks prior to departure. Tour Beyond, Inc. pledges to make every effort to follow the tour itinerary precisely; however unforeseen situations do occasionally occur. If a hotel/cruise ship in the itinerary becomes unavailable, Tour Beyond, Inc. reserves the right to make a substitution with a hotel/cruise ship of equal standard and quality. There will be no refunds or extra charges for any difference in the cost of those accommodations. Local tour arrangements are determined by local tour operators and are based on local circumstances such as weather, traffic, holidays, etc.
Yangtze River Cruise
Cruise Itineraries are subject to change and may be altered specifically according to various factors such as water levels,port accessibility, weather, navigation, etc.
U.S. Add-on Flights
U.S. Add-on flights are introduced as an optional service, upon request by the Customer, to facilitate their transportation to the designated gateway city. All China Spree tours start and end at one of the three gateway cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York (JFK), where Air China operates non-stop flights to Beijing. Add-on fare is not part of the tour price neither is it considered to be part of the tour. The add-on air is subject to availability and confirmation by the related airline. Due to the nature and complexity of the add-on flight arrangement, China Spree cannot guarantee and is not responsible for any change to the flight schedule, flight route, airfare, the availability and confirmation of the flight. Upon receipt of your add-on airline tickets, the Customer must phone the airlines related to confirm the flight and get their seats assigned. Travel protection is strongly recommended to protect you from flight change, flight cancellation and travel delays. Tour Beyond cannot be held responsible for any delayed and/or missed connections whether the add-on flights are arranged by us or not.
A minimum of 10 travelers are required to guarantee a group departure. In cases where we have to cancel a departure due to low participation, clients will have the option to either reschedule the trip or receive a complete refund of all payments they have made to us.
Shopping is an active part of tourism, particularly for destinations like China, which is known as a bargain shoppers' paradise. Your China tour may have shopping stops. Please note shopping is always a personal matter, and Tour Beyond Inc. is not responsible for any purchases you make during your trip, whether that merchant is part of the scheduled itinerary or not.
The customary gratuities to the tour director, local guides, motor coach drivers, porters and wait staff are not included in the tour price. Tipping is optional and should be extended on a voluntary basis. A detailed tipping guideline will be sent to you prior to departure date.
Baggage is carried at passenger's risk and baggage protection is recommended. Although every efforts is made to handle clients' baggage carefully, Tour Beyond cannot be responsible, assume liability, or accept claims for loss or damage to baggage and personal effects due to breakage, theft, or wear and tear throughout the trip.
Baggage allowance differs for the transpacific and the China domestic sections of your trip.
Baggage allowance for the transpacific flight is two pieces of checked baggage per person. Total dimensions (Length + Width + Height) of the two pieces must not exceed 107 inches (273cm); maximum dimensions of single piece shall not exceed 62 inches (158cm). Maximum weight per piece is 50 lbs. Each passenger may carry one hand baggage, the dimensions of which shall not exceed 45 inches (115cm).
China domestic airlines have stringent luggage restrictions allowing one piece of checked baggage that must not exceed 44 lbs per person, plus a carry-on baggage not exceeding 11 lbs and it must fit in the overhead bin or under your seat.
Baggage in excess of the above allowances will incur excess baggage charges payable on site by the passenger. Your luggage should be limited to one large checked suitcase and one small carry-on bag per person. Valuables, breakable items, travel documents and medications must be carried personally in a handbag. Please note that it is a Chinese regulation that all checked baggage must be locked.

"China Spree" is a registered trademark owned by Tour Beyond, Inc. The trademarks, logos, and service marks not owned on behalf of Tour Beyond, Inc and that are displayed on the Site are the registered and unregistered marks of their respective owners. No rights are granted by Tour Beyond, Inc. to use such marks, whether by implication, estoppels, or otherwise. Unless otherwise noted, all materials contained in this Site are copyrighted and may not be used without the express permission of the copyright holder. Any violation of the trademark rights, registered or unregistered, or copyrights of Tour Beyond, Inc. may result in legal action.
Health & Medical Issues
Our trips are exciting and active vacations. While there is time to relax, there will also be much to see and do, and your excursions may require an extensive amount of walking. Some travel itineraries include a trip to Tibet and/or a hiking tour; such tours have stringent health requirements.
1) High Altitude of Tibet
This tour itinerary includes a 3-night stay in Tibet at an altitude of 12,000 feet. Discuss with your doctor medication to alleviate altitude sickness, especially if you are prone to altitude sickness or have not previously been to high altitudes. At this altitude, almost everyone feels some of the symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). These symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, loss of appetite, trouble with sleep, and lack of energy. Talk to your doctor about whether the trip to Tibet is advisable for you and if you should obtain a prescription medication, which can help prevent or treat AMS. Medication to reduce mountain sickness may be advised by your physician and is strongly recommended for a Tibet tour. While you are in Tibet, you must move at a very slow pace.
Catching a cold or cough in Tibet may cause very serious consequences, or even lead to death. If you catch a cold or cough prior to Tibet, you must notify your tour guide or our China representatives (see "Contact Information" page of your booklet) to cancel the Tibet portion of your trip because of these very serious consequences. If you catch a cold or cough while in Tibet, you also need to notify your guide so we can evacuate you out of Tibet in a timely manner, at your own cost.
2) Medical Checkup
We strongly recommend that you have a medical checkup before you take the tour to Tibet (or other destinations with high altitude). This is a must if you have any medical conditions or physical limitations. Let your doctor know about any medical condition you have, particularly cardiac or respiratory disease or diabetes, and discuss the potential risk for travel to that high altitude (12,000 feet). The hospitals and medical facilities in Tibet are relatively primitive and may not be able to handle your medical condition.
3) Hiking Tours
Other tours such as the hike up the Dragon Spine Terrace present not only risks associated with physical exercise, but also risks associated with the use of human power transports such as litters. If human power transports are used, they can result in passengers falling or transporters tripping and causing serious injury. While China Spree designs tours with customer's safety as a paramount concern, China Spree cannot be responsible for the risks associated with strenuous hikes, extended walking episodes, and the use of human power transports. By purchasing these tour packages, customers are agreeing to assume these inherent risks associated with strenuous physical exercise and the use of human power transports.
Vaccinations are usually not mandatory to enter China. However we remind you that traveling in China does require certain precautions. It is therefore highly recommended that you check with your personal physician to verify your particular needs. Most travelers take Hepatitis A&B and Tetanus. Some shots need to be taken well in advance. Tour Beyond is not in the position to tell you to do or not to do any vaccinations. Please check with your family doctor for details. For the latest overseas travel health information, please contact the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by calling them toll-free at 1-888-232-3228 or by visiting their website at www.cdc.gov/travel.
If you have a condition as contemplated herein, you travel at your own risk. Tour Beyond, Inc. (dba China Spree) is not liable for any injuries or damages you may suffer relating to such a condition, including without limitation loss of special equipment, lack of assistance with, or accommodation of special needs, and unavailability of medical assistance or treatment. China Spree is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment you may require during the trip. Under no circumstances is Tour Beyond responsible for the quality of medical care, or lack thereof, you may receive while on the trip.
You have undoubtedly read about the occasionally serious pollution problems in China, especially Beijing. This heavy smog came to public attention in November, 2012 and has happened a few times since. Though the smog is more likely to occur in the winter months, China Spree recommends that all travelers to China in whatever season pack a mask. China Spree cannot predict the pollution level in advance and we have a strict cancellation policy. Therefore, we also recommend that you buy the kind of travel protection that allows you to "cancel for any reason," most especially if you have any respiratory or cardiac problems or if you might be bothered by smog. Talk to your doctor about whether the trip to China--especially Beijing--is advisable for you.
All China Spree and World Spree tour participants are required to buy comprehensive travel protection (from China Spree/World Spree, or from different suppliers) with coverage at least equal to that of the Travel Protection Plan offered by China Spree/World Spree.
Final documents including air tickets, hotel lists, final tour itinerary, clothing suggestions, reading list, luggage tags and other pertinent information will be mailed to you approximately two weeks prior to departure.
Photography on the tour
From time to time, Tour Beyond will photograph the tour and tour related activities. All travelers consent to the use of their likeness in Tour Beyond, Inc. publications unless they specifically indicate their preference in writing prior to departure.
California Seller of Travel
Tour Beyond, Inc. is a Registered Seller of Travel in the State of California; the registration number is CST2075458-40. California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account. This business has a client trust account. This business is not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund.
Tour Beyond, Inc. doing business as China Spree (China Spree Travel) acts only as an independent contractor. As a tour operator, Tour Beyond, Inc. organizes and sells tour programs consisting of certain services, including air, surface and water transportation, hotel/cruise accommodations, sightseeing excursions and other package programs that Tour Beyond, Inc. purchases or reserves from various suppliers (herein referred to as "Suppliers"). Tour Beyond, Inc. does not own nor operate any of these Suppliers.
The Suppliers providing travel services for Tour Beyond are all independent contractors, and are not agents, affiliates, or subsidiaries of Tour Beyond, Inc. As such, Tour Beyond, Inc. cannot be held responsible for the acts or omissions of any Supplier or of any third party.The passage contracts in use by the Suppliers such as airlines, cruise lines, motor coach lines, rail companies, local land operators, hotels and other travel providers whose services are included in your tour package, when issued, shall constitute the sole agreements between you and such third party suppliers, and are subject to the terms and conditions specified by each individual supplier. The cruise contract in use constitutes the sole agreement between the passenger and the cruise lines, and therefore, you are subject to the terms and conditions of that agreement regarding the cruise ship portion of the tour. Any recourse for problems encountered with these Suppliers must be through the Supplier agreements without liability to Tour Beyond, Inc.
In addition, Tour Beyond, Inc. shall not be in any way liable for any inconvenience, accidents, loss, personal injury or property damage to you or to those traveling with you in the course of the trip resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrences or conditions including but not limited to delays, cancellations, change of schedule, overbooking or downgrading of accommodations, mechanical or construction breakdown, default of any third parties, criminal or terrorist activities, acts of governmental authority, social or labor unrest, hygiene, disease, customs regulations, weather conditions, Acts of God, or any other actions, omissions or conditions that are beyond the control of Tour Beyond, Inc.
Clients must be aware that in the tours, they will experience different living standards and practices outside of their home country including but not limited to standards of quality, hygiene, medical treatment, provision of utilities such as water, electricity, accommodation, food preparations and services of all kinds. In consideration for purchasing a tour and embarking upon travel using the assistance of Tour Beyond, Inc. you understand that Tour Beyond, Inc. is only a facilitator and that you agree to assume all risks involved in such travel, whether expected or unexpected, or whether directly or indirectly the result of such travel.
Tour Beyond, Inc. reserves the right to change the departure date of any trip, withdraw any tours, alter a tour itinerary, and substitute hotels, airlines, cruise ship, land travel operators, and any aspect of your tour package for the convenience of the operation of tours. In the event of cancellation, alteration or substitution of such services due to the operation of the Suppliers, delays, weather, act of government authority or other causes of whatever nature beyond the control of Tour Beyond, Inc. comparable services will be offered; and, there shall be no refund or penalties in this connection. Tour Beyond, Inc. reserves the right to decline to accept, or retain any person as tour member if such person's physical or mental conditions, in Tour Beyond's opinion, impede the operation of the tour. Tour Beyond reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure for any reason. Upon complete cancellation, Tour Beyond Inc. shall refund the full amount paid. Liability for such cancellation is limited only to this full refund; such refund will constitute full settlement with the tour member.
Hotel and cruise ship profiles are based upon information provided to Tour Beyond, Inc. by hotels and cruise ships, or their representatives, including images and descriptions of individual properties. Star-ratings may differ from country to country. Tour Beyond, Inc. does its best to maintain current information, however, is not responsible for any inaccuracies, changes in features or amenities, or images provided by third parties.
Payment of the required deposit constitutes consent to all provisions of the conditions and general information contained herein for all travelers covered by the payment. The General Conditions under which you agree to utilize the services of Tour Beyond, Inc. in arranging the tours may not be amended in any way except in writing signed by an authorized officer of Tour Beyond, Inc.
Tour Beyond, Inc. reserves the right to modify this Terms & Conditions at any time and Customer's continued use of this service will be conditioned upon the Terms & Conditions in force at the time of use.
Tour Beyond, Inc. makes every effort to ensure accuracy on the website and brochure; however, Tour Beyond, Inc. cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in the publications.
Claims & Jurisdiction
All claims against the tour operators must be filed in writing within 30 days after completion of the tour. By utilizing the services of Tour Beyond, Inc., you agree that the exclusive venue for all claims, actions or proceedings against Tour Beyond, Inc. of whatsoever nature arising out of this contract shall be the State of Washington; and, such claim actions or proceedings shall be determined according to the laws and jurisdiction of the State of Washington.
Limitation of Liability
By booking one of these vacation packages, you acknowledge that in all events Tour Beyond, Inc. shall not be liable for any consequential, psychological or emotional damage and that the sole extent of liability of Tour Beyond, Inc. shall never exceed the amount actually paid by you to Tour Beyond, Inc.
